The Rockin Berries'

I’ve had a gig booked playing with The Rockin’ Berries in April 2009, these guys are a genuine 1960s pop band, part of the “brumbeat” movement along with The Move and many others. The gig will take place at Arden Hall in my home town, Castle Bromwich.

A couple of months ago I went to one of the gigs at Arden Hall to see two other 1960s performers, Dave Dee and Dave Berry. I didn’t know much about these guys but they were both cool, I particularly like the weirdness of Dave Berry’s performance, surely an early influence on David Bowie?

The gig was good fun, the crowd was cool and it was all well run and organised, so I’m quite looking forward to playing there next year, although it feels like ages away…

If you’re looking for something interesting to look at on the internet, why not have a look at this youtube clip of The Rockin’ Berries, featuring a highly sexually charged and plainly hysterical introduction by Jimmy Savile. Rockin' Berries Clip

And if your even more bored than that, heres the wonderful Dave Berry being weird Dave Berry Clip And if this sort of thing really does it for you, here Dave Dee with his 1960s band, doing something very odd with a Greek sounding bit of filth. Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky,
